Special Edition: We Shall Stand For Love for Dorothy Oger

This Special Edition Livestream, We Shall Stand For Love, was aired in October of 2023 as a virtual vigil of sorts while our dear Breakthrough Show Network family member, Dorothy Oger, was in hospital. On October 24, 2023, we said goodbye to this beautiful soul. Here is a message from her friends:

It is with our deepest sadness, love, and peace, that we, friends, share of the unexpected passing of Dorothy Oger on Monday, October, 24, 2022 in Schaerbeek, Brussels in Belgium.

Dorothy was so many things, to so many people including:
A family member, a loved one, a partner, a sister, an aunt, a friend, a poet, an author, a speaker, a teacher, an NLP master practitioner, a coach, a volleyball player, a musician, a singer, a deep-thinker, and a wise soul.

Lives around the world were touched by her powerful poem, For Love, written in the wake of the terror attacks in Brussels, Belgium on March 23, 2016. Since that time, her friends and acquaintances from around the world have put forth a global effort to not only share the message of this poem, but have the poem translated in over 70 languages, and even made into songs. Part of Dorothy’s mission was that each person would become able to hear her poem in their mother tongue, as she shared in her TEDx talk given at Saxion University on November 29, 2016, and other talks and events.

Over the course of 2022, Dorothy and friends worked to take the translations of the poem to the next level, by compiling audio and video versions of it to create powerful compilations of the words spoken and the faces of those choosing to stand for love. The first video compilation was released on International Women’s Day, March 8, 2022, followed by another compilation released on March 17, 2022 for all those around the world affected by the war between Russia and Ukraine, featuring 48 voices, and 24 languages.

Dorothy held space every day at 1pm Brussels time via Zoom to set an intention and read the poem with anyone who desired to stand for love as well.
Although Dorothy is no longer with us in human form, her energy, her passion, her mission, and of course, her love, have inspired us all to continue her work. Her message that LOVE, and choosing to stand for it amidst sadness, grief, hatred, jealousy, war, was the most powerful act that any of us could choose, will continue to be shared by those who loved Dorothy during her life, and those who will come to love her thereafter, through her work.

Thank you, Dorothy, for teaching us to stand for love.
