She competed for nine years with much success–placing in the top 5 in the solo dance category at the Southern US Championships (Oireachtas) for four years, and qualifying for the World Championships five times. From 2002-2005 her figure choreography team won 1st place at the Southern Region Championships. She competed at the World Championships in Ireland twice, and in 2005 placed 25th at the North American Irish Dance Championships. Amanda performed in Eire: The Show in Branson, Missouri in 2004. She toured North America with the show The Magic of Ireland in 2007. Throughout her years of dancing, she also had the honor of sharing a stage with Irish music legends such as The Chieftains, Cherish the Ladies, and Eileen Ivers. She is the instructor for the Drake School of Irish Dance in Auburn and Birmingham, Alabama, producing National and World Championship qualifiers. Amanda received her TCRG in December 2011, and graduated cum laude from Columbus State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree that same month. She became the owner of Celtic Traditions shortly thereafter, and moved to Auburn with her husband Josh.
Special thank you to the incredible dancers who have performed on our show under Amanda’s direction!
